Friends of the Earth (FoE) works with other progressive organisations both within Australia and internationally.

Partners and alliances

FoEA is currently a member of the following networks and organisations:

  • we are the Australian member of Friends of the Earth International, the largest grassroots environmental network on the planet
  • the Global Paper Alliance, which is aiming to ensure environmentally sustainable paper production

  • Inland Rivers Network (composed of the ACF, Nature Conservation Council of NSW, National Parks Association of NSW, Coast and Wetlands Society and FoEA)

  • FoE acts as the secretariat for the Australian Nuclear Free Alliance (formerly the Alliance Against Uranium). Further details at

  • We are a founding member of the Forest Stewardship Council (FSC) in Australia.

  • with a number of other environmental groups, FoE is a signatory to a Memorandum of Understanding with The Murray Lower Darling Rivers Indigenous Nations (MLDRIN). MLDRIN is a confederation of Indigenous Nations or traditional owners in the lower southern part of the Murray Darling Basin.
